Student Advocates Association (SAA)

SAAphoto The Student Advocates Association was formed to support students’ families, spouses, and loved ones throughout the medical school journey. By providing activities and opportunities for students with families and the families to interact, the SAA seeks to build friendships that can ease some of the burdens of being in a medical school family. Right now, our membership is composed of wives, husbands, fiancés, partners, significant others, children, parents, grandparents, and other loved ones interested in supporting their students. We meet for regular activities ranging from game nights to baseball games, wine tasting to bowling. Most are kid-friendly, and many make a great excuse for a date night with your student. The SAA operates under the national organization, the Advocates for the American Osteopathic Association, and sends a delegate to their yearly conference. The national and state groups are integral in supporting and maintaining the student groups at osteopathic colleges all over the country. Please contact our advisor, Lee Strampel, for more information. Or you can find our group on Facebook.
